It Will be an Instant Classic at Xfinity Mobile Arena with Nuggets Missing Half Their Team Against Sixers
The Nuggets are on the second night of a back-to-back as they head to Philadelphia on Monday for game six of a seven-game road swing. They’re missing eight guys total, which includes the entire starting lineup from opening night:
They have basically nobody, but we’ve been around long enough to know that the Sixers are going to find themselves in an absolute dogfight. This is a line that started at Sixers -12 Monday morning at bet365 and then jumped to -14.5 when the injury report came out. They are -950 on the moneyline at PA and NJ betting apps, which would have to be parlayed with at least 2-3 other things to create any kind of meaningful value.
From a player prop perspective, Peyton Watson is the obvious guy to target for the Nuggets. He scored 23 in Brooklyn on Sunday night and is -140 to reach 20 points again. It’s slim pickings otherwise. You’ve got Bruce Brown at over/under 12.5 points after scoring a grand total of 0 in his last two games. DaRon Holmes and Jalen Pickett would be the other two guys to consider, because somebody has to shoot and rebound the ball.
On the Sixers’ side, V.J. Edgecombe has been on a heater recently, scoring 26, 23, and 25 points during the three-game win streak. He scored 10 in the two prior games, and his O/U for Monday night has been appropriately set right in the middle, at 15.5. That’s probably worth playing, the over. I’d also look at the first quarter over/under and play the over 55 points because there is not going to be a lot of defense from Denver, especially with their main bigs both out.
This is one of those things where you either find some amazing value in the backup players, or avoid the game like the plague, and turn to online slot games and blackjack online casino instead.
