The Matvei Michkov Birthday Goal is Almost Too Easy of a Prediction

If you’re a fan of betting on narratives, well this one is almost too easy to predict right?
Michkov is +190 at BetMGM to score a birthday goal in the Flyers’ Tuesday home game versus the San Jose Sharks.
Birthday or no birthday, it’s a solid spot for Michkov, who is trending in the right direction with a point in four of the last six games and multiple shots on goal in four of the last five.
He’s going up against a Sharks team that allows 3.27 goals and 31.4 shots against per game.
Just like it was with the Sabres last week, when the Sharks lose, oh boy do they lose. They conceded four, four, six, and seven goals in their last four losses. They’ve allowed four or more goals on 13 occasions and lost 11 of those contests. The two wins related to that trend were overtime victories. So the Sharks have zero regulation wins when they give up four or more.
San Jose has two overall regulation wins on the road this season. Six of its eight road losses were by multiple goals as well.
The Flyers puck line price sits at +145 at bet365. The Over 3.5 team total sits at even-money. If you combine the two together, they get you to +200 in a Same Game Parlay.
If you want to add in the Michkov props to score a goal and Over 2.5 shots on goal, you get to +900 before you apply bet365’s 30 percent SGP boost for Tuesday’s NHL action.
I’d take Michkov’s shots on goal prop as a straight. The Over 2.5 is +128 at bet365, a great price for a player who had 4+ shots on goal in two of his last four games and for a matchup against the Sharks.
If you’re looking for other player props, Trevor Zegras’ Over 2.5 shots on goal stands out. The Sharks give up the most shots on goal per game to left wingers, a stat that also helps Michkov’s case. Zegras put multiple pucks on net in 10 of the last 11 and he’s had 12 SOG across the last three games.
One interesting market to target at bet365 is most shots on goal in the game. Zegras is +500 and Michkov is +800. Might be worth a small dabble in case the Flyers are able to bottle up Macklin Celebrini, the favorite in that market at +400.
