NBC Sports Laying Off Some National Writers

Hmm.

Seemed like we were maybe out of the weeds when it came to the tough round of layoffs and furloughs that took place when COVID-19 brought sports to a screeching halt back in March, but NBC is moving on from some national writers.

You’ve probably heard of Craig Calcaterra, who covered baseball:

Rob Dauster was a popular college hoops writer:

Bill Baer was a longtime Crossing Broad supporter:

Sara Perlman was also let go. She worked on “The Daily Line,” which was a sports betting video series/page.

Nothing local, not from what I’ve seen so far. It appears as though the writers at NBC Sports Philadelphia are okay for now, with a few national cuts only. Will update if anything else comes down the pike.
