How Do You Fire James Franklin Knowing Penn State Won’t Play Ohio State Again Until 2028?

I didn’t know this was a thing until I saw a tweet this morning that Penn State and Ohio State don’t meet again during the regular season until 2028. Since that has been brought to my attention, I kind of think Penn State is crazy for firing James Franklin:
Franklin’s only bugaboo was OSU. Can’t lose to ’em if you don’t play ’em:

He’d start out 6-0 beating up on inferior competition, every college football analyst would wonder if this was PSU’s year, and then Ohio State would play them, kick their ass, and remind people that they were the same old Penn State they’ve always been. But if you told me they were removing James Franklin’s Kryptonite for the next couple of seasons I’d say PSU football was destined for a generational run. It would’ve been their golden age. It’s like if the NFC East didn’t exist until 2000 the Bills would have four Super Bowls right now. Now they have to completely start over. How was this not taken into consideration before they fired him? No wonder he was a douchebag on College Gameday. He was finally about to get what he’s prayed for his entire career in Happy Valley. He wouldn’t have to see Ryan Day’s dyed beard until the B1G title game. Instead they closed the door on two chapters and it was too early! I mean look at this schedule next season. Their toughest test comes in Week 2!

No OSU, no Oregon, and no Indiana. Sure, USC has the #1 recruiting class currently, but Lincoln Riley has won just as much as James Franklin and you get them at home flying across the country! Is it too late to bring him back? Has he blocked Pat Kraft’s number yet? Students at University Park and beyond get out to the JoePa statue and protest again! Burn the Creamery to the ground! Somebody do something! You don’t know how good winning 10 games in the regular season was until you win 11, and with Ohio State off the schedule it’s never been a better time! Not even Matt Rhule wants to be a part of your program right now:
This ends with Brian Kelly trying on a Philly accent in the Bryce Jordan Center during halftime of a Penn State/Rutgers tilt. I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but the Nittany Lions are going to rue the day they let go of James Franklin (until at least 2028).
