Aaron Nola Will Pitch for Italy in the World Baseball Classic
Phillies news:
Nola is from Louisiana but has Italian roots.
In a 2019 Players’ Tribune article, he touched on this while explaining how he got comfortable with Philadelphia:
“I started venturing out more and exploring on our off days. I have a camera, so I would go out at night and take some pictures. It was peaceful and stress free. I’d go eat breakfast in the mornings and just walk around after with no particular destination in mind. My dad’s family is Italian, so I love Italian food. I would actually go to the Italian part of the city and write down the names of restaurants I wanted to go to.”
Nola is a Paisan. It wasn’t well-documented, necessarily, but that’s the fact, jack.
The World Baseball Classic is in March. Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, and Brad Keller have committed to Team USA. You need this Nola to show up for Italia:
