Add Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy to List of Treatments the Phillies Will Use to Win the World Series
Rob Kuestner, John Clark and David Chang at NBC 10:
Following a growing trend in professional sports, the Philadelphia Phillies are now the first Major League Baseball team to use Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) to improve their players’ recovery and performance.
HBOT is a medical treatment in which patients breathe 100% oxygen inside a pressurized chamber. The treatment is used to increase oxygen delivery, improve healing and fight infections.
…
The Phillies’ mobile hyperbaric chamber is currently in Florida during spring training and will travel north when the Phillies begin their season in March.
Whatever it takes to win a World Series.
This follows Bryce Harper doing that “Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation” treatment, which is where they hooked him up to the vampiric and sanguine contraption that circulated his blood outside of his body. Then Zack Wheeler kept the rib that was surgically removed and now they’re moving forward with “Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy,” so there’s some real offbeat shit going on here. How much will these treatments help them hit a breaking ball in October? That’s the real question.
You know who else could use some of these mobile hyperbaric chambers? The 76ers. They should have one for each player. Why isn’t Paul George inside of one right now? He better come back from the suspension ready to roll.
It is very bad to steal Jobu’s rum… It’s very bad.
