The Sixers are humming, the Eagles stink, and the Flyers are struggling. Now may be the perfect time to turn on the Arizona Fall League, because Aidan Miller is ripping the cover off of the ball.

Through 12 games with the Surprise Saguaros, he’s slashing .359/.590/.564 with 14 hits, 4 doubles, 2 triples, 7 RBIs, and 5 stolen bases. He is 2nd in the entire AFL in OPS at 1.154, and it’s something that Phillies fans really needed to see:

Miller was sidelined for most of the 2026 season with a back injury. He was diagnosed with discogenic pain and facet inflammation in the lumbar spine back in June and underwent a procedure a few days after. Miller returned to game action on September 5th, splitting time in four games between Clearwater and Reading. He was part of the Reading Fightin Phils team that won their first Eastern League Championship in 30 + years.

As the top position player prospect in the Phillies organization, the team will be cautious with Miller. The question remains how early you’ll see him in the majors.

Alec Bohm will likely not return in 2027, leaving a hole at third base. Trea Turner is not guaranteed the shortstop position in 2027, which could also leave a hole there as well. The assumption, as of now, is that Miller will take over one of those positions at some point next season.

The Phillies could look for a utility man to fill a hole early in the season, and then turn the job over to Miller once they believe he’s ready. Mauricio Dubon has been a name thrown out there over the last few weeks.

For now, the Phillies will continue to let Miller do his thing in the Arizona Fall League. He finally looks like the healthy talent that Phillies selected in the 1st round of the 2023 MLB Draft.
