You don’t need Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge, and Juan Soto in the home run derby when you’ve got Alec Bohm:

I love it. To go from “I fucking hate this place” to All-Star Game and home run derby in two seasons is quite the turn of events. He’s also never been a prolific home run hitter. Just 11 this year and a career-high of 20 last year. But he’s hitting .296 and leads Major League Baseball in doubles while being third in RBI, so if we’re talking about finding the league’s best hitters to fill in for the guys who don’t wanna participate, he does indeed fit the bill. It’s a controlled environment anyway. Maybe he surprises everyone. It’s good to have a Phillies in the derby regardless. Let’s go.
