And Just Like That, Maikel Franco is Optioned Back to Triple-A

Bryce Harper is back in action tonight.
In turn, the Phils are sending Maikel Franco back down to Lehigh Valley for whatever reason:

Lots of complaints about the move, since it means Sean Rodriguez remains on the roster. Rodriguez can play whatever position but he’s hitting .053 in the month of August with a whopping one hit in 19 at bats. I’d also point out that Rodriguez can’t be optioned and would have to be designated for assignment, so I guess down goes Franco instead, who went 2-6 in the Marlins series with an RBI, a double, and a walk.
Also, today is Maikel’s 27th birthday. Happy birthday, Maikel, you’ve been optioned again.
