What a game! Who knew Otto Kemp would be the spark plug the Phillies need? Not only did he have three hits, but he got Daycare’d by Kyle Schwarber and Bryson Stott after the game. Something we haven’t seen the entire year. Are the Phillies about to start having fun again?

This Phillies team has been a snoozer so far this season, which is crazy to think when they’re 10 games over .500. But top to bottom they have zero personality since Bryce Harper told everyone the Daycare was graduating on Opening Day and I think it’s contributed a lot to people’s reactions towards them this early into the season. Even the winning streaks aren’t necessarily entertaining, so it makes the losing streaks feel like even more of a slog. And don’t get me wrong, I don’t care whether these dudes want to pour water on each other or not after wins, but this fanbase needs to feel connected to you in some way and that’s especially true during a long season. What’s the most exciting thing that’s happened to the Phillies before Monday night? Mick Abel’s first start? Taking two of three from the Dodgers the third series of the year and capping it off with an 8-7 come-from-behind victory? We’re only two months into the season and it feels like we’ve been playing ball for six months. Make the Phillies fun again.

It’ll be important for these guys like Kemp, Andrew Painter, and Justin Crawford to step up and give the team a shot in the arm. During a long baseball season dumb moments like these are fun:

We’re bringing the bats out on postgame live! You know things are going well the more Ben Davis is holding a bat in the studio:
