Atlanta Braves Playoff Tickets, Get ‘Em While They’re Hot

Nothing should get you pumped for playoff baseball like a 1:07 p.m. start time on a Tuesday. Kids are in school, parents are working, and so we’ll give Cobb County the benefit of the doubt for these ticket prices on the secondary market:
Section 442 is up in the nosebleeds, but prices are still super cheap in the good areas as well. 147 to 151, the left field home run porch, those are going for $30 each. You can sit behind the dugout for less than $150 as well, which seems like a decent chunk of change, but this is the NLDS we’re talking about here and the Braves are really damn good.
I took a quick look at secondary market prices for the Game 3, Friday in Philly. Couldn’t find anything less than $180. It’s not a huge secret that Philly turns out for baseball better than Atlanta does, but the Braves got saddled with some absolutely shitty weekday start times. Imagine if the Phils were the host and ended up with Tuesday at 1:07 p.m. and Wednesday at 4:35 p.m. That’s brutal. Of course, it’s been a long time since Philly hosted a playoff baseball game, more than a decade actually, so that certainly figures into demand.
Atlanta is a weird sports town. It’s a melting pot. You find a lot of pockets of support for SEC football, NASCAR, golf, and various pro teams because of the myriad expats living there. The Braves do get pretty good support because of their sustained success over the years, but it’s just not the same as what you’d find in the big northeastern baseball markets, like Philly, Boston, and New York.
