Bryson and Dru Stott had their second child on Wednesday morning. Rob Thomson said that his plan was for Stott not to play in the series finale against Boston, and Stott could’ve went on the paternity list for a day or two, but he didn’t want to miss a game.

He got to the field a little later than normal, then surprised everyone when he came out to a new walkout song in his first at-bat.

“AOK” by Tai Verdes became one of the most famous walk-out songs in all of baseball over the last few years. Wednesday night, it was “Buy a Boy a Baseball” by Granger Smith. It’s a pretty obvious nod to his newborn son, but it’s the first time in Stott’s career that it hasn’t been AOK.

He ripped a double down the right field line on the first pitch he saw all night. He then proceeded to steal third before Lucas Giolito even started his delivery. Then, he stepped up in his second at-bat and cracked a solo home run to right field to give the Phillies a 5-0 lead.

I don’t know if he can go back to his old song –

Welp…as I was finishing this, Jesus Luzardo imploded in the 5th inning, walking four batters and allowing a grand slam.
