Here’s a text message conversation I’d like to be in on.

It’s Charlie Manuel and Jim Thome talking about facing Houston Astros right hander Gerrit Cole, who has been lighting it up this postseason and would look really nice in a Phillies uniform next year:

“I am 75 years old and I want to face Cole. I can see the Liberty Bell.”

Love it.

Would love to see Charlie Manuel and Jim Thome facing Gerrit Cole. Maybe we can set that up next season after Cole signs a four-year deal with the Phillies for $150 million dollars. Let’s throw some stupid money around and get that fucking trophy back.
