Cristopher Sanchez finished in 2nd place in the NL Cy Young race, receiving all 30 2nd place votes.

It’s a unanimous win for Paul Skenes in his 2nd year, after taking home the NL Rookie of the Year Award in 2024. Skenes finished the year with a league-leading 1.97 ERA, striking out 216 batters with a 0.95 WHIP, the 4th best in all of baseball. It was a phenomenal season and a lone bright spot for the Pittsburgh Pirates, who finished 26-games back of the Brewers in the NL Central with a 71-91 record.

Cristopher Sanchze has emerged as a true star, ace, and horse over the last two years. The lefty has gone from a questionable major-league arm to a top 3 lefty in the entire sport over a 3-year span. Sanchez tallied a 13-5 record across 32 starts with a 2.50 ERA, a 1.06 WHPI, and 212 strikeouts in 202 innings. He walked just 44 batters, held a 4.8 K/BB ratio, and lead all pitchers across the league in WAR with an 8.0. Aaron Judge was the only other player across the entire sport with a higher WAR than Sanchez.

Jesus Luzardo received four total votes in his first season with the Phillies: one 4th-place vote and three 5th-place votes. Old-friend Nick Pivetta finished 6th in the Cy Young race, while Zack Wheeler, who went down in the summer with a blood clot in his shoulder, received one 5th-place vote.
