Finance Major Otto Kemp is Batting .345 Since Being Called Up on June 7th

Point Loma Nazarene University’s most famous alumnus is locked in since being called up in early June and he’s turning over the lineup while also having a finance degree from the sixth-best Christian College in America according to Niche.com. What can’t this guy do?
In only eight days, he has multiple three-hit games and Sunday clocked the first four-hit game of his short career. The only question is what do you do with him after Bryce Harper comes back. Bobby Dickerson is working with Kemp at first base every day. Does that mean Harper moves to the outfield to help one of the worst-performing tandems in MLB or can Kemp play left field? Max Kepler has been swinging a pretty hot bat recently, but we know that will come and go. Is he just a depth piece at this point? Someone the Phils hope they can rely on in the playoffs if they need a righty to pinch hit? Do the Phillies get aggressive and trade Alec Bohm to acquire a player they think can put them over the top and open up third base for Kemp? I’d assume Kemp himself wouldn’t fetch much at the trade deadline due to his short tenure in MLB, but maybe Dave Dombrowski uses him as a sweetener in a deal for a reliever. I’m so hot on Otto Kemp though that I might declare him untouchable if he keeps putting on a show at the plate.
Maybe if he does become a trade piece, Dombro can use Kemp’s skills to sell to other GMs about how valuable he is:
Proficient in Microsoft Word? How many ballplayers can say that? Need an essay written up? Otto Kemp is your guy. Social media acumen? You know he’s never going to get himself in trouble on the Internet. Critical Thinking? What is more important at the plate in high leverage situations than critical thinking? Is this guy going to throw me a fastball inside or slider away? I have no idea, but I’m sure Otto Kemp does. Research? That one is self-explanatory.
