Harrison Bader Will Not be a Phillie in 2026

We had already accepted this outcome, but it’s now official that Harrison Bader will not be a Phil:

Bader declined a $10 million mutual option at the end of this past season. He came over in the trade that sent Hendry Mendez and Geremy Villoria to Minnesota.

He played really well here, 50 games total while hitting .305 with an .824 OPS. The injury limited his playoff participation, which was a bummer, but it was always wondered whether or not the form would continue into 2026 if the Phils had offered him a new contract. They believe in Justin Crawford in center and gave Adolis Garcia $10 million to play right field while deciding to move on from Nick Castellanos, who remains on the roster.
