Here’s a List of People We Can Blame/Be Pissed at About the Dodgers Getting Tarik Skubal

Last week I wrote about how the Dodgers were favored to land Tarik Skubal before the trade deadline. In the time since, they actually did it. The Dodgers added the best pitcher in baseball to the best team in baseball. It’s fucked up. There can be no question that it’s fucked up.
My blog last week came from a feeling of defeat. I saw the writing on the wall, and I was tired and beat down and dejected from the Dodgers doing this sort of shit over and over. But now that the trades actually complete, something has shifted in me. My lethargy has been replaced with anger… that is growing into rage… I am fed up…
This is some bullshit! I’m tired of this! The playing field was already fucked up because of these guys and now it’s way worse! The postseason is going to be so much worse now! Fucking Dodgers. These asswipes. They’re ruining baseball. I believe this. I’m all-in on this narrative. Everyone else is throwing it around so I’m gonna start doing it too.
And I’m not just pissed at them. There are other people who deserve blame/anger.
In no particular order:
1) The Dodgers
Already covered it but fuck those guys. Ruining baseball. We’re heading for a lockout because of these guys. I believe this.
2) Dave Roberts
Luckiest guy in the sport. Not good at his job. Has many, many fuck-ups on his resume. Should’ve been canned so many times. Then his front office goes out and buys the best roster we’ve seen in decades and he gets to act cocky. Unacceptable.
3) Rob Manfred
Block this shit! You have the power! Pull a David Stern when Chris Paul was traded to the Lakers. Veto! You could have saved all of us! But you let your cowardice prevail. Unacceptable.
4) Detroit Tigers
Detroit should’ve refused to deal Tarik to the Dodgers. Teams do this all the time. Sometimes you just don’t want a particular team to keep on winning and getting better so you actively choose to not tade with them. Why not do that? Why are you giving the Dodgers what they want? Why not have a spine? Send Tarik to the Brewers. Or the Phillies. Or even the Braves. It’s not like the Dodgers offered you this massive haul that no one else could match. Detroit lost this trade by a mile! Their return was shit! They fucking blew it! More on that below.
5) Every other team in baseball
Beat the offer! LA’s offer sucked! Look at this trade! How did no one else step up and offer something better?
Los Angeles Dodgers get: LHP Tarik Skubal
Detroit Tigers get: OF Zyhir Hope, RHP River Ryan, RHP Brady Smith —
The Angels broadcast put it extremely well when the news broke:
“Why couldn’t a team like the Brewers or the Braves or whoever, step in and keep the Dodgers – this is an open market. Anybody can go and get Skubal. This is not about money. This is about trading prospects. And how could these other teams allow that to happen? … The Dodgers aren’t the only team with prospects and they aren’t the only team with top 100 prospects that are in the mix… They don’t even trade their best prospect, which is [Josue] De Paula… How does this happen? Why would teams just allow the Dodgers to swoop in and do this? I don’t get it.”
6) Tarik Skubal
Should’ve refused to go to the Dodgers. Use your voice. Stand up for what’s right…
7) Shohei Ohtani
Should be in jail! People forget! Let’s reopen the case! I’m choosing to believe this conspiracy now. It’s all we have…
