Howard Eskin and a Lack of Reading Comprehension

Make no mistake; Howard Eskin is “The King.”
He goes to all of the games. He asks the TOUGH questions that other reporters are afraid to ask. He’s the hardest working man in America.*
And now he’s calling out Phillies owner John Middleton:
Incredible statement by #Phillies owner John Middleton after Bryce Harper wins a players award, the MLBPA NL Outstanding Player award.
“Bryce’s 2021 season was one of the greatest in our franchise’s history.”
What about Schmidt, Howard, Rollins, Utley and Carlton. They won rings.— Howard Eskin (@howardeskin) October 29, 2021
Howard must have glossed over the part of the statement that says “one of.” One of the greatest seasons in franchise history. Not THE greatest season in franchise history.
What would you expect Middleton to say? “Bryce Harper had a great year, but he’s no Steve Carlton!” Is that what The King is looking for? If so, he’s a dope!
This is a great tweet, though. Take a little bit of misplaced anger, mix in a lack of reading comprehension, then add a sprinkle of whataboutism. Then send it out to your 135,000 followers.
