J.T. Realmuto to the Braves Would Make No Sense

Little bit of a buzz in Phillies world today because this guy is linking him to the Braves:

Braves circling on free-agent catcher J.T. Realmuto, according to league sources. Other teams on the west coast are expressing interest.

Huh? Is this the same Braves team that already has Travis d’Arnaud? Why would they have any interest in Realmuto? Surely it would be dumb to platoon those guys or use one as… a DH? I’d think their priority would be re-signing Marcell Ozuna or finding his replacement. And does any “west coast” team have a need at catcher? Seattle?

I dunno. This seems really funky. It doesn’t make sense on paper. Smells like an agent dropping a bogus rumor to beef up another team’s offer. A team like the Philadelphia Phillies.
