Jake Arrieta Gets Rocked, Phillies Fans Don’t Seem to Hate It

Man, Phillies fans really do not like Jake Arrieta.
Making his first start after the helping the Cubs blow a 7-0 lead last week in an eventual 15-7 blowout loss to the Brewers, Arrieta looked to rebound against his former team tonight.
It did not go well.
It took just six pitches for Arrieta to promptly load the bases. It took just 10 pitches for the bases to be cleared and the Phillies to build a 4-0 lead.

After escaping further damage in the first, Arrieta again ran into trouble in the second. He didn’t get much help from his outfield defense, but with the Phillies up 7-0 and threatening for more, Arrieta was out of the game after recording just five outs.
It marked the second straight start in which he failed to complete two innings. In all, he allowed more runs (seven) and hits (six) than he recorded outs (five).
Over his last eight starts, Arrieta has produced a 9.67 ERA while allowing opposing hitters to produce a ridiculous .336 batting average. The numbers from his last two starts are particularly gruesome:
3.1 IP, 10 H, 10 ER, 2 HR, 6 BB, 27.00 ERA
Predictably, most Phillies fans on Twitter didn’t hate to see it:

LMAO. The Phillies have put up 7 runs on Jake Arrieta and it’s only the second inning. Nature is healing.

It would be a real shame if Jake Arrieta let the Phillies get hot.

Apparently, some Cubs fans saw this result coming from a mile away.
