Jayson Werth was pulled over and subsequently charged with a DUI in Arizona this past April. Sadly, an athlete getting hit with a DUI is fairly commonplace, but the video of Werth’s arrest is noteworthy. Earlier today, TMZ Sports released this video of the April 17 arrest:

Werth initially tries to wiggle out of trouble by identifying himself as a baseball player, explaining to the officer, “We do a lot of work with you guys.” Eventually, he agrees to exit the vehicle, but refuses to participate in a field sobriety test, telling the arresting officer, “I’m just not sure I trust you.” After the officer assured Werth he could get in trouble for lying about his rights, Werth tells the cop, “A lot of people have gotten into a lot of trouble assuming that police officers have their best interest.” At this point, the officer then proceeds to arrest Werth.

Last week, he pled guilty to the DUI charge and was sentenced to a diversion program.
