Jhoan Duran’s Entrance, and Phillies Debut, Lived Up to the Hype

Friday night’s matchup between the Phillies and Tigers was an absolute whirlwind, but the way it ended was one of the cooler regular season moments at Citizens Bank Park.
Jhoan Duran made his Phillies debut in the 9th inning, after the Phils’ offense piled on five runs in the 7th and 8th inning to form a 5-4 lead.
Duran’s entrance was everything you’ve already heard, and more:
Duran said before the game that the Phillies asked him if he wanted to keep the same entrance, and he said yes. I can see why that was his answer.
If you weren’t at the stadium, I can promise you that no video does it justice of how good the intro is. It just feels like he’s going to get through a clean outing. He did that on Friday night, throwing a 4-pitch inning with all splitters, topping out at 99.7 mph, finishing off an electric 5-4 Phillies series opening win.
