Johan Rojas Fails PED Test, Facing 80-Game Suspension

Phillies outfielder Johan Rojas has failed a performance-enhancing drug test and is appealing the test results, according to multiple reports.
Rojas, 25, made his Phillies debut back in the summer of 2023 and impressed early as a defensive-first outfielder. The last two years were not good, specifically at the plate. He continued to struggle on offense in 2025 and was optioned to AAA at last year’s trade deadline when Harrison Bader was acquired from the Minnesota Twins.
No statement has been made by the league as of now due to Rojas still being in the appeals process. This is the 3rd Phillie in the last 10 months to get busted for PEDs. Jose Alvarado, Max Kepler, and now Rojas.
Rojas was originally listed on the roster for the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic after a successful offseason in the Dominican Winter League, but is no longer eligible to participate. If Rojas’ appeal fails, he will be suspended for 80 regular-season games and be ineligible for postseason play.
