Johan Rojas had three hits in the Phillies’ extra-innings win on Monday night, which means he now has a higher batting average than Nick Castellanos:

Throw in a .192 slugging percentage for Rojas and a .114 number for Castellanos. Nick has him beat on OPS by virtue of four more walks.

Nothing to write home about for either guy, but at least Rojas has now had one good game at the plate this season. Castellanos has zero good games at the plate. He has one hit in the month of April. 100% of his RBIs and 75% of his hits took place in the season-opening series against the Atlanta Braves.

The thing about Rojas on Monday night is that his first hit was excellent. He ripped a double into left field that came off the bat at 108 mph, which is now the hardest he’s hit a ball in at the Major League level. Then he knocked a run with an opposite-field single before legging out an infield single in the 9th. A mixed bag and a confidence builder for a guy who seems to lead every Phillies conversation.

Oh yeah, and he made a nice catch in center, which is why he’s out there in the first place.

So if Castellanos isn’t hitting, and he isn’t Andruw Jones in the outfield, then we’ve got an Office Space “Bobs” situation. What would you say, you do here? Nick’s gotta figure it out soon, because if he keeps this up, you’re gonna be the next guy getting a standing ovation at CBP.
