John Kruk vs. Angel Reese Was Not the Beef I Was Expecting This Week

I can’t believe I’m writing about a beef between Angel Reese and John Kruk, but it is 2025 and nothing really makes sense anyway. Kruk made a joke on the broadcast after Tom McCarthy wished a former teammate a Happy Birthday:

Kruk and TMac getting spicy on the broadcast during a boring 6-0 ballgame! I love it! That’s why they’re one of the best crews in the entire league. They better hope Shaq doesn’t hear about this, or he’s going to threaten them next.

Angel Reese released a TikTok after this and people believe it’s in response. Can’t wait until Kruk is front row for the Chicago Sky vs. Philly Belles playoff matchup in 2030:

Kruk isn’t necessarily wrong. Angel Reese leads the WNBA in Mebounds. She loves them so much she trademarked the phrase. She’s averaging three more than anyone else in the league and she’s only shooting 44% from the field, enough for 31st in the league. She’s shooting eight times per game from inside five feet and only making <50% of her shots. EIGHT TIMES AT A LESS THAN 50% CLIP! George Mikan is rolling over in his grave. She also doesn’t average one shot a game from outside nine feet. Numbers never lie:

Anyone who doesn’t think the rivalry between Caitlin Clark and Reese is great for the WNBA is an idiot. We’re in the middle of baseball season and NFL training camp and we’re talking about the WNBA.
