Wrong time for this and the wrong place.
Trying to make sense of it, on one hand, maybe it’s a routine or rhythmic thing for Duran, to enter the game in the same fashion no matter what the circumstances are, but in terms of optics, and reading the room, this is a negative seven thousand out of 100. It looks super goofy and amateurish, like the Mets playing the stupid Edwin Diaz song when he comes in during a non-save situation to try to save their season.
Speaking of the Mets, that’s what the Phillies are right now. They are the Mets. Two teams with big payrolls that can’t get it done.
