Well shit (Jon Heyman was first on this) –

So the Cubs shipped out their All Star third baseman, who will be a really nice fit for Minute Maid Park. They also moved the former Yankees prospect, Wesneski, and a prospect of their own in Smith. Good deal? Bad deal? It really hinges on what happens with Tucker after this season. He only has the one year remaining on his current deal, so Chicago will have to get a new one done.

It was reported earlier by Jim Bowden that the Astros rejected a Phillies trade offer of Alec Bohm and Nick Castellanos for Tucker. No Juan Soto, which seemed like a long shot to begin with, no Garrett Crochet, no Devin Williams, and no Kyle Tucker either. The Phils added Jordan Romano on a one-year deal but nothing beyond that. You can sense that the lack of activity has the natives becoming restless. We’re waiting for Dave Dombrowski to do something, anything.
