Let’s Get John Kruk to Wear a Suit More
By Matt Schultz
Published:
The Phillies beat the Mets 6-2 on the latest edition of NBC’s Sunday Night Baseball, improving their record to 42-35, moving into the second NL Wild Card spot, and shrinking the Braves’ division lead to just 6.5 games. The win capped a weekend of excellent play from the Phillies, who just keep stacking wins and building momentum; Philadelphia is now 33-16 under Don Mattingly (.673 winning percentage), having won 12 of 16 series since firing Rob Thomson, and suddenly looks poised for another postseason run — something that seemed like a long shot after its dreadful 9-19 start to the season.
But none of that stuff really matters right now. That’s not what this blog is about. This blog is about John Kruk wearing a suit on Sunday night’s broadcast. They made him do it again. That ruled. Look at this suit:
I’ve been smiling all day reading through Suit Kruk reactions. Lot of good ones out there:

Like every dad who owns one suit and was forced to wear it to a wedding by his wife.

Between the suit and his visible discomfort at the intro I honestly thought maybe someone died or something

(from April but worth posting:)
I know Kruk would not like this, but I propose NBC makes Kruk wear a suit way more. Maybe once a week. It’s so damn fun.
