MLB Paying Homage to The Brooklyn Brawler with Horrendous Apparel Collaboration

Anthony saw this on Twitter and thought it was worthy of a post.
I agree:
MLB has released an apparel collaboration with Off-White, featuring the brand's signature "meteor holes."

Wow what the fuck is this? The jerseys are a thousand dollars and have holes in them? Kanye West is stewing angrily somewhere thinking “why didn’t I come up with this?”
The holes are called “meteor holes” and feature open spaces on jerseys and hats.
Jerseys have “Your Name” on the back with the #23.
The teams featured at this time include the Miami Marlins, Chicago White Sox, Miami Marlins, Toronto Blue Jays, Chicago Cubs and Oakland A’s.
We could colloquially refer to this as the Swiss cheese look, but I think I figured it out. This is an inside joke. Off-White is simply paying homage to the great Brooklyn Brawler of wrestling fame:

All I remember about The Brooklyn Brawler is that he lost almost every single match. He was what they call a “jobber,” i.e. he just goes out there and loses and collects a paycheck. Kind of like The Repo Man. According to Google, Brawler lost 1,169 matches in his career, but I was very surprised to find out that he “won” a Triple Threat match that included Triple H:

Thanks for taking this walk down memory lane on a Friday morning.
