Of course Nick Castellanos gets his first Phillies hit as the Blue Jays broadcast team was reading a statement regarding a DUI for their pitching coach:

Tom McCarthy needs to fire up the Citizen app during every Castellanos at bat this season and just start reading all the bad shit that went down in the city that day. This guy thrives at the most awkward times. Of course this all started when Nick Castellanos hit a home run during former Reds broadcaster Thom Brennaman’s apology on air for using a homophobic slur:

The legend grew after Castellanos hit a homer the next season against the Royals again while the broadcast team read a WWII veteran’s obituary:

He also hit his first professional home run the night Osama Bin Laden was killed. You can’t make this shit up:

With the crime rate in Philadelphia at an all-time high, Castellanos might break Barry Bonds’ home run record by July. All I know is he’s going to have more home runs than 18. 18!?! Maybe 18 home runs in April. John Middleton didn’t spend $100 million for 18 home runs:
