The Phillies acquired Jhoan Duran from the Minnesota Twins, according to Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic.

Duran, 27, is one of the top relievers in the entire sport. The Phillies have been in a bidding war with multiple teams over the last few days, including the Mets, Dodgers, Mariners, and more.

The Phillies are sending back Mick Abel and Eduardo Tait, according to Bob Nightengale:

There were rumors earlier that the Twins were asking for Andrew Painter to make this deal. Dave Dombrowski found his way around that ask, and acquired the best reliever on the board without including Painter, Aidan Miller, or Justin Crawford.

Duran holds a 2.01 ERA on the year in 49.1 innings pitched with 53 strikeouts and a 1.18 WHIP. He’s under control through the 2027 season.

The Dombrowski trade that everyone has been waiting for has happened. Now, go get a bat.
