Thought it might be Roman Quinn out there, but not sure his hamstrings can handle the cold temperatures. Heyo!
(Sorry, had to do a Roman Quinn injury joke)
But on a serious note, Quinn seemed like the preferred option on paper against Max Fried, but the Phils are gonna give Adam Haseley the center field start instead. He does not have a lot of plate appearances against lefties and Joe Girardi didn’t put him out there against a lot of LHP in 2020.
According to Fan Graphs data, Haseley had ten plate appearances against lefties last season, hitting three singles and a double while batting .400. In 2019, he hit .212 against lefties with 16 strikeouts and three walks in 57 plate appearances.
Interesting wrinkle here. We’ll see how he does with Quinn starting on the bench and Odubel Herrera at the “alternate site.”
