First reported by Jim Salisbury, confirmed by other Phillies beats:

You probably remember Fuld from his playing days. He had stints with the Cubs, A’s, Rays, and Twins during a career that ran from 2007 to 2017. Upon retirement, at 35 years old, he joined the Phillies as a “major league player information coordinator,” working under Matt Klentak and Gabe Kapler. He most recently held the title of “director of integrative baseball performance,” whatever the hell that means, and was the runner up for the Red Sox managerial gig.

This seems like a Daryl Morey and Elton Brand type of deal. Clearly, Dave Dombrowski will be the decision maker at the top, while Fuld is the main assistant. He’s the young guy with the bright future. Fuld seems to be well respected around the league, so obviously they feel like they can groom him for a larger role within the organization.
