It’s not every day you see a redemption arc play out on the Internet. Here’s an update on the lady who got hit with the ball at the Phillies game, for the people that were on the edge of their seats:

She got the ball! There are really two sides to every story.

Love that we got context about the friend too. Gayle’s friends definitely sent the mean one down to those guys to retrieve the ball, but in that case I wouldn’t have wanted to give her the ball either. Kick rocks, lady. I know your friend has Rawlings implanted on her cheek, but I didn’t hit it. Finders keepers, losers get hit in the face with a Max Kepler home run and she gets not one, but two shiners. Isn’t that how the phrase goes? I’m keeping this ball now as a learning lesson. The lesson? The Golden Rule of course. Treat others how you want to be treated and I don’t want a screaming banshee yelling at me about a ball when I just got off of a long day at a job I hate. I can’t believe how much I’ve 180’d on these guys. I’m going to have to re-write my thoughts from the original blog. If a lady gets hit in the face and wants the ball give her the ball UNLESS her bitchy friend comes down and berates you for it – then all bets are off.

Ngl, Katy cooked with this line: “If we’re not looking for all the unwritten reasons to be kind to each other then what are we doing?”

I’m glad we settled this the right way. You don’t get that a lot nowadays, especially recently, but these guys in the end did the mature thing. They saw the video, contacted Katy, and were able to make Gayle smile in the middle of a shitty situation. Now we’re getting like a Sisterhood of the Traveling Ball kind of story.

Head on a swivel out there this weekend, folks!
