The Phillies beat the Phillies 3-0 on Wednesday night… wait, what?

Wednesday night’s intrasquad scrimmage was a success. The Phillies opened up the game to fans for $10 and sold 31,343 tickets, with all proceeds going to Phillies Charities.

Here were the rosters:

Team Powder Blue

  • Brandon Marsh CF
  • Alec Bohm 3B
  • Bryce Harper 1B
  • JT Realmuto DH
  • Nick Castellanos RF
  • Edmundo Sosa SS
  • Otto Kemp LF
  • Garrett Stubbs C
  • Donovan Walton 2B

Pitchers: Jesus Luzardo (Starter), Matt Strahm, David Robertson, Taijuan Walker, Orion Kerkering

Team Pinstripes

  • Trea Turner SS
  • Kyle Schwarber DH
  • Harrison Bader CF
  • Max Kepler RF
  • Bryson Stott 2B
  • Rafael Marchan C
  • Weston Wilson LF
  • Rafael Lantigua 3B
  • Caleb Ricketts 1B

Pitchers: Aaron Nola (Starter), Tim Mayza, Walker Buehler, Tanner Banks, Jhoan Duran

Rob Thomson split up the teams as even as possible, giving each some left-handed bats, and split the relievers up evenly, while also keeping guys together, like Trea Turner and Bryson Stott up the middle.

Luzardo struck out nine Phillies batters in his three innings of work. Nola tossed three scoreless innings allowing just two hits while striking out three.

Mr. October arrived, no matter what type of game it is:

The Phillies are off Thursfay, will have a workout on Friday, and then begin the NLDS on Saturday. They’re still awaiting their opponent, but the Dodgers currently hold a 1-0 series lead on the Reds after a dominating win on Tuesday night. Game 2 of that series is on Wednesday night at 9 P.M.
