Report: Dusty Wathan Could Be Next Phillies Manager

Several MLB teams hired new managers over the last few days and the Phillies might be next.
USA Today columnist and MLB Network insider Bob Nightengale reports that Dusty Wathan will replace Pete Mackanin:
The Philadelphia #Phillies zeroing in on Dusty Wathan to become their next manager, promoting him from Triple A Lehigh Valley

Wathan is a former player and has coached in the Phillies’ farm system since 2008. He spent five seasons with the Reading Fightins and last year managed the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, leading the Triple-A club to the postseason despite his roster being plucked of talent as the season progressed.
Other recent reports have eliminated some names from contention, including ex-Giants’ third base coach Phil Nevin and former Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale.
Tyler Trumbauer is a young Philly sports junkie who didn’t believe in the Process, but now is grateful that Sam Hinkie died for his sins. He’s aptly described as a guy with a little talent, a lot of luck, and great timing.
