That’s not as much as I thought it would be. This should give them about.. 10 million-ish to play with up to the luxury tax, which the Phillies have never paid. Matt Gelb reported the other day they won’t pay it this year either, because Dave Dombrowski has been instructed not to crest $230 million.
This allows them to make another move. It’s not going to be Kris Bryant, with their remaining self-imposed cap space, but they can probably get someone like Kenley Jansen in here.
