Roy Halladay Will Enter Hall of Fame Without A Team on His Cap
By Bob Wankel
Published:

Roy Halladay was officially elected as a member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame’s Class of 2019 yesterday after receiving 85.4% of the votes needed for enshrinement. Since then, many have wondered if Halladay would go in as a member of the Blue Jays, the team with which he spent 12 seasons, or as a member of the Phillies, the team with which he authored his memorable perfect game and postseason no-hitter.
We now have our answer:
Brandy Halladay said Roy will not have a Blue Jays or a Phillies logo on his cap for his Hall of Fame plaque. She said it was an easy decision because both teams meant so much to him. Admirable strength and poise as she and their sons met with the media.

All class.
Halladay finished his 16-year career with 203 wins, 67 complete games, 20 shutouts, two Cy Young Awards, and eight all-star appearances. He’ll be officially inducted, along with Mariano Rivera, Edgar Martinez, and Mike Mussina in Cooperstown on Sunday, July 21.
Something tells me a few Phillies fans may make the trip.
