Liam Castellanos emerged as a Phillies legend after Nick signed his contract ahead of the 2022 season. Nick has talked multiple times about how he plays at a different level when his family, especially Liam, is in the building. Castellanos is one hell of a baseball player, but always a Dad first.
“When I’m old and no one cares about me as a baseball player anymore, we’re going to be at home and be able to remember and look back at that,” Castellanos told FOX during his postgame interview.
Liam lives down in the diamond club when he’s at the games. He’s always up on the fence, cheering on the Phillies and his Dad. Castellanos has had many awesome moments with Liam over the last few years, but Sunday night was the best of the best.
Scott Franzke, who lost his father back in May, got choked up on the call when Castellanos ran over to Liam.
Larry Anderson and Kevin Stocker had Franzke’s back, continuing the call, but the special moment spoke for itself”
Oh man, this is so good…
Lost in the madness yesterday was Scott Franzke getting emotional as Nick Castellanos goes over to his son Liam after the game. Franzke lost his Dad this year & was overcome with emotion. So good. Sports are amazing.

Castellanos started off his day with a nice “these fucking people” after a CBP Bronx cheer when he laid off a slider in the dirt. He picked up his day with a game-tying solo shot to go back-to-back with Harper, and followed it up with an electric walkoff that led to that moment with Liam.
How can you not be romantic about baseball?
