The Inquirer’s Rob Tornoe has a Friday morning notebook in which the following is written about calls for NBC Sports Philadelphia to show Jhoan Duran’s entrance on TV:

NBC Sports Philadelphia has figured out a solution, and plans to showing Duran’s full walk-up routine for evening home games live for the rest of the season.

“We’ve heard from passionate Phillies fans across the region,” the network acknowledged in a statement, noting fans will now “get to experience this phenomenon live and in its entirety.”

It’s unclear what NBC Sports Philadelphia’s solution is, though it likely means shifting around ad inventory and tinkering with the timing of its breaks to guarantee a short block of time where they can show Duran’s entrance. The network didn’t elaborate.

The entrance is what, 35 seconds? 40 seconds? You can show it on TV then get a few commercials in. It doesn’t have to be more complicated than that.

And it’s not like it’s going to be overkill with the entrance. The Phillies have 20 home games remaining. They will win some of those and lose some of those. And in some of the wins, Duran won’t even be called on, because hopefully they’re beating the snot out of the Mets and Jose Alvarado can close it out.

Duran has appeared seven times for the Phils since coming over from Minnesota and only three of those games were at Citizens Bank Park, so it does not seem like this is something that NBCSP has to move heaven and Earth for, but seriously, kudos to them for listening to the fans and making the adjustment.
