T Mac Receives Some of the Dumbest Feedback

One of the more interesting things on Twitter is seeing Tom McCarthy respond to Phillies fans and outsider jamokes. Some of the questions are rudimentary and easily answered, like “what channel is the Phillies game on tonight?” and T Mac hits them with an “Apple TV” or “ESPN” or whatever. He’s generally pretty good about clarifying little details here and there, like explaining that the Roku game started early for exclusivity purposes.
He also receives and responds to some of the dumbest feedback, like these two guys not understanding that McCarthy has to switch up his approach for a national broadcast:
That second tweet is pretty good. “You’re a broadcaster from the city of Philadelphia,” but T Mac is from New Jersey and went to high school in Ocean County. He’s done all sorts of broadcasting around the region but is not “from the city of Philadelphia.” Also funny is “back us or go elsewhere,” when considering that there’s a significantly large portion of consumers who don’t want their broadcasters to do the homer thing in the first place.
Here’s another one, from a guy who insists that the broadcast is pronouncing Jhoan Duran’s name incorrectly:
At the beginning of each season, or when joining a club, players record themselves pronouncing their first and last names for the purpose of media being able to hear it and get it correct. The Phils broadcasters have been saying it the way Duran says it. It’s the same thing with Jordan Romano’s last name not being pronounced like Ray Romano, but “Ro-MAN-O” instead. They nailed that one down rather quickly, and people kept telling them it was wrong, when, in fact, it was correct.
Here’s a tweet about nose hair:
Responding to @kkolb_cocksling is good enough in itself, but you throw in nose hair as a topic and we are laughing.
So on and so forth with these comments. T Mac gets some of the dumbest shit tweeted at him. It reminds me of feedback the female talent would receive at Eyewitness News back in the day. The reader emails and Facebook comments were brutal, just no boundaries and no filter and no respect. “I like that wrap dress on you, but you should never wear turquoise.” Or, “Are you pregnant? You look great but need to lose 20 pounds.” Or “Please never do that with your hair again.”
