I am ashamed. I missed this over the weekend, missed an opportunity to LOL at the NY Mets.

Sunday was (Who But?) W.B. Mason toy truck giveaway at Citi Field, and while you might assume the Metropolitans handed out tiny replicas of the unmarked trucks used to covertly deliver Bernie Madoff’s illegal profits to cover the Mets’ payroll in the mid-2000s, it turns out what the Mets handed out on Sunday was even sadder and a little bit more hilarious: a Phillies truck. Behold, the Mets’ Sunday giveaway:

That… is a Phillies logo on the door.

Now, it appears as though this was an isolated incident, so it’s not that big of a deal. But still, the other baseball team in New York handed out a toy Phillies truck on Sunday afternoon.

The Mets: America’s car accident. Almost literally this time.
