The MLB trade deadline is quickly approaching, and I can already see Jeremy Hellickson is Marlins…uh…orange and black and that kinda teal color.

According to Ken Rosenthal, the Phillies have been scouting the Marlins’ Gulf Coast League prospects in preparation for a possible Hellickson-centered deal. Why the GCL? Because the “Marlins’ farm system is pretty weak, so it makes sense that the Phils would be scouting the low minors looking for high upside talent.” Helli is also catching attention from the Pirates, Giants, and Orioles and is set to start against his potential future team tonight in Miami.

Additionally, Vince Velasquez is reportedly a target of the Texas Rangers – doesn’t it feel like they always want our pitchers? – but his price would be way high.
