The Fightins had an interesting post earlier today about how if the Phillies finish the season with the best record in the National League, they will get to choose whether or not they play a seven-day NLDS or an eight-day series.  That matters because the latter would mean that the Phillies would only have to pitch Halladay, Oswalt, and Hamels in the best-of-five series.  Obviously, that's huge because, as we told you earlier today, they make up one of the best 1-2-3 punches in the last 20 years.  And since the Phillies have the most wins in the league right now, they control their own destiny.  Literally. Read in more detail, and comments from Todd Zolecki, here.
