Here is something you most certainly would not have seen in a press release following a Ruben Amaro signing– a reference to a Sabermetrics defensive stat from FanGraphs, about Peter Bourjos, who was claimed off waivers today:

Granted, that may have been the only positive stat they could find for a guy with a .200 batting average and four home runs in over 100 games. But, we applaud the progressitivity. And no, I don’t believe that is a word. Screw off.

Nice catch by Ryan Lawrence– somebody should hire that guy.
