The Phillies Reportedly Made Yoshinobu Yamamoto an Offer

According to Matt Gelb from The Athletic (with ads) the Phillies officially made an offer to Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

The only problem is that so have the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, Blue Jays, Giants, and Dodgers, and the Phillies offer isn’t expected to be close to the highest. The meeting also took place in Los Angeles, according to Todd Zolecki. On the other hand, Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman were all at Yamamoto’s meeting with the Dodgers while he himself traveled to NY to meet with the Mets and Yankees. Do with that information what you wish.

Don’t lose hope just yet though, cause apparently Yoshi wants to pitch on the biggest stage in baseball and what’s a better stage than Philly in October:
