The Phillies’ Spring Training Hats are… Fine, I Guess

If you caught either of the spring training games this weekend, you saw the Phillies with a new design on their spring training hat:
The hat features the red Phillies “P” with a white outline on a red crown with a blue button at the top and blue bill. Next to the Phillies “P” is an embroidered floral design with a grapefruit, paying homage to the Grapefruit League. On the right side of the cap, there’s a patch depicting a beach and palm tree.
It’s fine. Last season they wore an all-red cap with a blue Liberty Bell logo on the crown.
I think they should just wear the cap with the Phillie Phanatic’s head on it that that usually wear for batting practice. And I’m not just saying that because I bought one last summer (I am). I also think it’s cool that they wear them for the Phanatic’s birthday:
I’m not as big a hat connoisseur as I was when I was younger. I actually had almost every MLB team’s hat in my collection. The only ones I really wear now are the Phanatic head BPs, throwback maroon, and the City Connect ones. The 2025 spring training hats were pretty popular, but now every team has a similar design with their team’s logo and either a grapefruit or cactus league emblem next to it.
