Today in Philadelphia sports randomness, we come across a Montgomery County guy selling on Facebook Marketplace a turnstile. Not the band that recently won a Grammy, but a literal turnstile from Veterans Stadium:

“Looking to sell my original Veterans Stadium turnstile. Functional and in good shape, bar does have some surface rust, stands up on its own as you can see. It is not too heavy and can easily fit in the back seat of a car or SUV. Asking $800 or best offer. Pickup in Schwenksville, Pa 19473, delivery can be arranged for a few bucks.”

Seller Chris has a certificate of authenticity from Phillies Charities. I hit him up for some more details, but if I had to guess, this came from the huge sale back in 2004, when the Vet was torn down after Lincoln Financial Field and CBP were built. The Phillies grabbed everything they could and auctioned it off for charity. You could buy turf pieces, bottles of infield dirt, signs, basically pieces of the building itself. There are a lot of those blue seats spread throughout the region at various sports bars or sitting in people’s houses or on their front porches.

You can find a lot of it online still, circulating on Ebay and Craigslist and the like, but this is the first time I’ve seen a turnstile from the Vet show up. They were made by a company called “Perey” and there is probably a practical use for this thing in 2026. Maybe you put it in your living room and practice jumping over it to perfect your SEPTA fare evasion. Or you put it in front of the pantry and can now keep track of how often your kids attempt to eat everything in there. Those are just a couple of thoughts. The maintenance doesn’t look too difficult, just spray a bit of WD-40 in there and you’re good.

Here are some photos from the listing:
