When you need results, you turn to Phillies players. Turner’s grand slam ended up winning it for Team USA, 9 to 7. J.T. Realmuto and Kyle Schwarber combined for three hits and even dorkface Pete Alonso got a hit.
(On the Venezuela side, Jose Alvarado got through a relatively clean 8th inning, allowing one hit that went for an extra base on a fielding error)
USA vs. Cuba, Sunday at 7 p.m. Winner goes to the final against the Mexico/Japan winner.
