We’ve Got a lol Mets Situation and the Season Hasn’t Even Started

We don’t wish injury or illness on anyone, but you can only laugh at the Mets when their #1 starter goes on the injury list before the season even begins:
Kodai Senga has a mild strain of his posterior capsule in his shoulder.
He will be shut down until symptoms subside and is expected to begin the season on the IL. pic.twitter.com/N9Ok7eVstW

At the risk of jinxing it, the Mets may totally stink this year. Senga is on the IL. Jose Quintana is whatever. Luis Severino could possibly be cooked. Beyond that, they’ve got Sean Manaea and Adrian Houser, then a competition involving Tylor Megill, Joey Lucchesi, Jose Butto, and Max Kranick. It wasn’t an amazing rotation even before Senga was shut down, and they’re not in some “go for it” type of season that would suggest they panic and overpay for a Blake Snell or Jordan Montgomery, so they might be slow out the gates, which would be really nice to see. God willing, the Mets will be horrendous this season.
Gotta hit ’em with a lol Mets:
